‘Rising Crane’ was the name I came up for the first move here after I had lettered it and thought I should spend my time more wisely getting pages done. I’m starting to feel like I’m running out of my formly hefty buffer I had in front of me. For reasons I still can’t fully say, I’m not able to work on this book at my peak speed. However I was able to do two pages this last week, giving me hope that I may be able to rebuild some of my cushion. I hope everyone is having fun with this book. It’s really been a dream of mine to make it. Remember to recommend it to your friends and if you don’t just like it but love it, check out my patreon page and become a subscriber. It’s really the best way to assure there will not be a hiatus so I can build a cushion before launching book 2. Thanks everyone for reading, and a special thanks for my Patreon subscribers. Peace.
Hey Everyone, How I draw episode 1 is up and in the ‘Tutorials’ section of the website. Just a preview of what I’m doing with the comic. So if you’re curious in watching me draw or like listening to comic creators drone on about their craft and gain some insight into what’s going on in Way of the Undead Fist, check it out. =) This is really a test episode. The later updates are at a much higher rez and at a better angle. Also if you do enjoy it and want to not only see more, have more step by step instructions and even pick the type of material being drawn then don’t forget to sign as a Patreon. Members get access to more tutorials as well as get to name the subject matter of the next tutorial. Just click on the Support on Patreon button and sign up. All proceeds go to keeping me drawing this book. =)
Or ‘Tip your Artist, I’ll be here for awhile’. Like many web comic creators I have created a Patreon Account to help me fund this lifelong passion of mine. This truly is my favorite thing I’ve ever created thus far. I love working on it, and I have to admit, I think I’m pretty good at it. However I’m not Stephen King or Jim Lee or anyone with name recognition that would allow me to make a living at it in the traditional sense. I still work and have responsibilities that can not be ignored. Patreon is really a way of fans to ‘tip the artist’. Easy enough concept, I make a good Cappuccino, I get a tip. I create cool art and a fun story that takes you out of your day for a moment, I get a tip. And depending how much your tipping me, I can give you things through the site as well. Such as custom tutorials, digital downloads of artwork and previews of what’s to come and how I make it. Like so.
In the end, the more supporters I can get on Patreon, the more time and work I can do on the book. The more I can post per week, the more tutorials I can make. Now if you can’t or don’t want to support me, that’s more than fine. I still appreciate my readers, the comic itself is always free. This is more for those who want to see more page posts during the week, want to tip their local artist, or maybe are interested in how he creates it or are looking for more complex tutorials than the basic ones on the site. Because while I appreciate all pledges, I covet your readership much more. Thank you.
Hey everyone, thank you all for checking out Way of the Undead Fist. I hope you’ve all enjoyed what you’ve read so far. I realize the pace has been slow but rest assured I am hard at work putting things in motion to hopefully speed that up. For now just know I greatly appreciate your viewership. If anyone has been curious, I do draw and ink the comic traditionally with pencil and brush. I am however looking at ditching the traditional Ink in favor of more digital means. Once I can settle on what that’s going to look like, I should be able to simplify and speed up my overall process. I am a very fast penciler, but my inking is sssslloooow. Rest assured that whatever I end up doing, the comic will look even better. Thank you again for reading, Page 7 will be up next Tuesday.
Thank you everyone for checking out my site and pimping it to your friends. The truth is that I would not be able to do this without your support and right now I want to take the time to thank some people in particular.
Mainly I need to thank my friend Chris Kirkman who helped me get this site off the ground and working two years ago. I can’t show this book without the site and it looks pretty good due in large part to him. If there are problems, it’s most likely something I did recently. =) Thanks Chris and Happy Birthday Buddy.
For everyone else, you are too numerous to thank by name but I hope I’ll be able to do it in person, next time I see you all.
Too say it’s been awhile since I updated this site would be mild at best. I’ve been dealing with a long line of personal family issues that have thankfully been coming up roses of late (knocking on wood). Thing is, that when you get into a routine with your life and are being pressured on all sides you tend to turtle and not attempt to deal with anything new or complicated. Putting this comic up on a consistent basis was a complication and commitment I wasn’t able to make. I didn’t want to post a few pages and then run out of steam because Life was getting in the way. That’s not to say I have not been working my tail off on it in the meantime. I released the site and comic early to keep contacts and get some work. While doing it I’ve been part of a few other amazing projects. Most notably created original artwork for the award winning Film “White Rabbit” starring Nick Krause, Sam Trammell and Britt Robertson.
Right now though, I’m focused on getting this site and pages up. I’ve got the content done, I need to get all the nuts and bolts of the site working. I plan on having the words to the Image above ready By June the first and follow it with a new page every Tuesday. I will also be posting images from work I’ve done for White Rabbit as well as sketches, designs and backstory for ‘Way of the Undead Fist’. I plan on having a Patreon account and will be doing some drawing Tutorials, with the Example art going to Patreon Members and offering Commissioned work as well.
So to anyone who has visited the site and wondered what the heck?, Heck is happening now. Sorry for the delay, I greatly appreciate you bearing with me. To anyone showing up now, keep reading, I got some fun stuff on the way. =)
