Going Vegan…

Finally.

When I had to end posting this series earlier than I liked, I was 3 pages short.  Getting those pages done has been difficult because of myself and lots of obsticles in my path, both that I created and those that were out of my control.  I ended  up starring at a page for quite a long time that was not my favorite so I wanted to make sure I ended this one with a great page.  And quite honestly, this is up there with my favorites.  My wife has said the Dog gave her nightmares so I’ll take that as a compliment.

I’m starting prepping for the next chapter in Way of the Undead Fist.  I have to write and plot the next series of pages.  Then start Drawing.  I’d like to have a lot more in the bank before I start posting again, so I can get back to a reasonable schedule with this book.  Also I’m going to try to scale back some of the detail.  I know I can do it, but Maybe I don’t have to go all out in every scene.  But it’s nice to do it in this one.  =)

Helping A friend

A Friend of mine was brutally attacked while getting gas at a gas station.  RuthAnn Thompson is a wonderful person and a true geek at heart.  This is really heartbreaking and she was a week away from getting Health Insurance.  As another friend of mine said, for a culture that reveres heroes, now is a great time to be one.  Stay safe and God Bless.

Hey everyone, I have not forgotten about my proposed deadline to publish page 62, just taking a wee bit longer.  =)  Thanks very much for stopping by.  I’m hoping to have it up next week.  I really like how it’s turning out.  I’m working on a few more additions to the site as well.  That should keep things interesting.

Animation Reel

Hey everyone.  I just finished my Animation reel.  This has been a big necessary creative time suck that I could no longer avoid so I could pick up some freelance work round Hollywood town where I live. Finally happy with it, and have enough work to fill it.  Mostly Adobe After Effects, Photoshop and Illustrator.  Thanks to everyone who hired me to work for them and hoping to get some more work as well.  With it done I can focus on more fun unpaid work in the meantime like finishing this comic.  😉  Thanks to everyone for hanging in there and I’m hoping to start posting some new pages soon.  Thanks.

Merry Xmas and Farewell Victor.

Hey everyone, Merry Christmas from your favorite Kung Fu Zombie book.  It’s been a little bittersweet for me.  I’ve been able to spend the time with my Son.  And it’s been amazing watching him take in his second Christmas.  At the same time, I found out an old friend passed away earlier this week, far too soon.  I met Victor Llamas working at Romp Films making the animated film “When Booty Calls”.  He was a sweet guy and like most of the people there we got along pretty well.  I can’t say we were close, we didn’t speak again after I left Romp.  But I keep up with his life a bit.  You see he asked me about this girl in the office who was a friend of mine from when Romp was still a dot com.  He was getting out of a marriage and didn’t want to complicate this girl’s life with his baggage.  I told him the truth.  Amy was a big girl and can make up her own mind, and that he would be a lucky guy to have her around.  Turns out he was a very lucky guy.  I reconnected with Amy years later over facebook and I have never seen a happier couple or family.  It truly breaks my heart to hear such awful news.  So with the hope that I can still give good advice this holiday season.  Please take the time to celebrate with those you love and hold them close.  None of us know how long we have, but if we are honest, fearless and have no regrets, I think we can live the fullest lives we can and honor and respect all those around us.  Tell those you love you love them, and have a wonderful Holidays.  Godspeed Victor.

Hey Everyone.

Sorry for the abnormally long pause in the story.  I’ve been seriously busy with many things.  Not least of which is taking care of a two year old boy who loves trains… and doing things he’s not supposed to.  Of course being a father is the most rewarding thing I can think of, but second is creating your own Kung Fu Zombie comic.  With Clark going to school, I should be getting some more time to work on this book and other endeavors.  I’ve also been picking up on the paid work front, trying to make as much money before the Government decides I can’t write off things for my business anymore.  In anycase I got some graphics work on the Bring It Holiday Special on Lifetime.  It’s airing on the Friday the 22nd and it marks the first time my wife and I got to work on the same project.  We’re still trying to recover from the ordeal.  😉  Not that it was a bad experience but with a sick two year old we had to take turns handing off, so one could work while the other babysat, was grinding to say the least.  😉  So between that and some other smaller projects I’ve been keeping busy, but I’ve already started for the next series of pages.

Thank you everyone for checking in, I love doing this book and I hope to be able to do it more consistently now with more and more of Clark’s schooling and more and more better paying gigs popping up.  Thank you all again.
